BEST is a not-for-profit company or 'social enterprise'. This means any money raised by BEST is put back into benefitting the community rather than raising profits for shareholders.

We can offer free services to our clients because of the special way that BEST is run and funded.

At the moment, BEST is mainly grant funded. We currently receive funding from the European Regional Development Fund, Community at Heart and Easton & Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Renewal. We also earn some money from research, consultancy contracts and sponsorship. For more information read our most recent Annual Report and Accounts.

BEST is a completely independent company and is not part of the local authority or any other government agency. This independance means we are free to use our voice to communicate the concerns of the business community in local decision-making procedures. Our voluntary board of directors includes many local businesspeople.

We currently have 6 paid staff. For more information, see The Team.
